I am maintaining my own DNS servers, and these are the tests I perform to make sure they are as close to be RFC compliant as practical. My purpose with Linux is to build a local manufacturing supply chain directory, and the domain name reflects that: kane-il.us
The federated forum is installed under a sub-domain, and since I own the DNS servers I may have unlimited number of subdomains, cost-free: hubzilla.kane-il.us
The domains and subdomains are validated online, using a few tools: the same tools used by attackers, and when they see your domain miss-configured they know they have another target.. So check YOUR domains NOW!
#^https://dnssec-analyzer.verisignlabs.com/hubzilla.kane-il.usThis not not at all sophisticated - I have 3 VPS instances running BIND9 on the latest Debian, using Webmin to manage it. After installing it the domains are gzipped every hour, and copied to a remote server. I keep a lifetime of hourly records of the DNS domains. Its all scripted, automated by Webmin.
I am building the community to help small manufacturers gain the confidence in Linux. The DNS network is the foundation, all else is build on top of it.
