Using two types of COTS, three different pieces printed in PLA+
I am designing and building a super light-weight conveyor segment, around 24" wide, 12' long (or as long as it need to be, but 12' is a good proof-of-concept). Its purpose is to be used to wire up and situate automation pieces such as motors, sensors, robotic arms. Then use the data collected to build the real thing, and just plop it in place of the 3D printed one.
The advantages are weight lighter than an aluminum ladder of the same size (while using the same ladder for the conveyor itself!). It maybe upgraded with in-house parts, and its safe - when something goes wrong the plastic cracks, breaks, separates causing little chances for serious injury. There are more advantages, but lets just stop here.
